Tackling the medals problem
A SRSA-sponsored one-day Sport Science Indaba was held recently held to take stock of South Africa's high performance and sport science sectors with a view to examining the reasons for the country's poor performance at the Beijing Olympics, and formulate proposals for improving systems for athlete and team delivery to elite international sporting events.
Sport and drugs update
In November last year at the World Conference on Doping in Sport held in Madrid, the association adopted a revised anti-doping code with harsher punishment for offenders, but more leniency for accidental drug-takers.
Zone VI Games taking shape
SRSA is hard at work preparing for one of the largest event projects it’s ever tackled: The Zone VI U/20 Youth Games that will be hosted in Potchefstroom, in the Kenneth Kaunda District, in December.
SRSA participates in Ke Moja program

The development of a framework for norms and standards for sports facilities is now complete, and a manual has now been published by SRSA's Facilities directors and a summary is presented here.
