Compilation of medical articles on Boxers

The early sixties saw amateur boxing in a state of virtual "siege". It was the subject of commissions of inquiry, abrasive newspaper articles and symposia in most capitals of the world, with certain strong currents of opinion flowing in the direction of a ban as an Olympic sport, in view of its inherent risks. Today amateur boxing can boast of a high record of safety; at the same time, it continues to enjoy great popularity among the youth and to appeal to the natural instincts of man.
