Clubs for social change

The article is a compelling and deeply insightful account of club development and social change after 20 years of democracy. In defiance of some negative issues still in existence, there are positive and welcomed activities taking place for clubs to take advantage of. In this regard the article points out the desire and current actions to again incorporate physical education into the school system, CATHSSETA's NQF making provision for 8 credits of their Level 5 system, the Government's White Paper of Sport, stipulating the importance of local authorities' responsibilities towards sport clubs, and the implementation of the National Sport and Recreation Plan (2011).
