SRSA wins PanSALB Award
The Pan South African language Board ( PanSALB) is a chapter nine institution which promotes, and create conditions for the development and use of official language. In line with their role as the language watchdog of the country, they then recognise and acknowledge the institutions and individuals who make a telling contribution in the field of language in the form of the PanSALB Multilingualism Awards.
On Tuesday 28 February the Department of Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) was awarded with the PanSALB Multilingualism Award in the Government/ Public Sector category, jointly with the South African Revenue Services.
In the 23 years that PanSALB has been in existence it is the first time that SRSA receives such an award and it is also a great achievement for the department as the Language unit within is still under development, but the department has shown with its campaigns that it seeks to promote multilingualism of the 11 official languages as much as possible.
