Gauteng leads at Schools Aquatics Champs

Good afternoon from a semi-sunny afternoon here in Polokwane where the atmosphere is now becoming loaded with excitement!  One day to go before the finals tomorrow, from 11:30.

Gauteng is doing splashing well with 84 medals - gold 41, silver 26, and bronze 17.  Kwazulu Natal ss the runner-up with a total of 59 medals followed by Free State, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Western Cape and the last at this point in time North West with 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 bronze.

But much can still happen as the final whistle has not blown yet.  Tomorrow, 13 April 2017, it's the 2017 National School Sport Championships finals for Aquatics.  The preliminaries commences at 08:00 with the finals from 11:30  at the Polokwane Swimming Pool.  The last item, Women 11-17 4x50 Freestyle Relay at 13:23 promises to be the showstopper of the day.

The winner of this year's Aquatics Champs will be announced and receive the floating trophy. The Victor and Victrix Ludorum trophies will be handed to the best male and female swimmer of the Championhships.
