Minister Nxesi congratulates Kagiso Rabada and Protea's Cricket National Team

The Minister of Sport and recreation South Africa and his Department, take this opportunity to congratulate Kagiso Rabada for being declared the best bowler in the world!

This was indicated this past Tuesday when the International Cricket Council announced its latest cricket rankings.  

The announcement follows Rabada’s haul of 4/39 against England on Monday moving him up four places on the bowling rankings landing on the top spot no the ODI bowlers list. 
"I take this opportunity to congratulate Kagiso Rabada on his latest achievement. To be ranked no 1 on the ODI cricket rankings its a huge achievement especially when this occurred while playing in the foreign international platform. This demonstrates tenacity, courage and determination. I take this opportunity as well to congratulate the Proteas as they continue to represent us well and we wish them all the best in the upcoming Champions Trophy Test match this Saturday. Our prayers and support goes out to them", Minister TW Nxesi      

Kagiso Rabada who is currently 22-year-old, becoming the youngest No 1-ranked bowler since Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq in 1998, he replaces another South African star in leg-spinner Imran Tahir at the top, with the latter in second.

Their Champions Trophy opener against Sri Lanka at The Oval takes place this coming Saturday at 11.30am SA time.
