Minister to attend Bafana Bafana match in Cape Verde

The Minister of Sport and Recreation the honorable Mr TW Nxesi, took time off of his busy schedule to accompany The Senior Men's National team to Cape Verde for this all important match.

In his reaction pertaining to him travelling with the National team, Minister TW Nxesi stated the following;  "this is an all important match for the team and the country. The national team need all the arsenal and support they can get to ensure that they go over this hurdle called "Cape Verde" to continue with flying our flag high during the Russia FIFA World Cup, come 2018. I am not a football technician however, my support by accompanying the team will definitely go an extra mile. The National team's success has a direct impact on social cohesion and Nation Building. I therefore urge all citizens to rally behind the team and ensure that we collect all maximum points." Min TW Nxesi

On Minister's travel with the team, SAFA President, Danny Jordaan had this to say; SAFA welcomes the Minister support by travelling with the National team to this crucial World Cup qualifier match. This is very important because, the last time Bafana Bafana qualified was back in 2002. In 2010 we played because we were hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup, this time around we have to ensure that we work extra hard for us to qualify hence we welcome the support by the Minister. We are delighted that the Minister is travelling with us as his actions demonstrate solidarity and patriotism."  Mr Danny Jordaan.

Bafana Bafana departs this morning to Cape Verde and are scheduled to take on Cape Verde on Friday 20H30 South African time.
