Passing of a legend in sporting broadcasting.

23 NOVEMBER 2017

Ministry and the Department of Sport and Recreation South Africa is saddened by the news of the untimely passing of a legend in sporting broadcasting - seasonal radio announcer, football commentator for both radio and TV, Rre Qebo Clement Manyaapelo.

Known for giving SA players nicknames that reflect their performance on the sporting fields, Rre Manyapelo one a itsi tsa metshameko jaaka a ikitsi. Often noted for saying, "kgwele ya Dinao gaena therefore" and his inspiring morning greetings of "Retla dula rethabile ka dinako tsotlhe", "you will never walk alone" are truly what will leave a gap in our hearts.

His sheer talent in Sport commentary is the reason why many today are Sport lovers and fans of our sporting players because of his ability to produce great commentary for football on radio.

He is by far one of the greatest radio football analysts of our time, as he daily taught his audiences about the world of Sport in a fun and engaging manner as a radio broadcaster for Motsweding FM.

Minister of Sport and Recreation South Africa, Minister Thulas Nxesi, takes this opportunity to express his heartfelt and deep condolences to his family, friends and all his fans.

"What a great sport presenter and Radio announcer. This man Qebo Manyaapelo, was forever jovial and always in a great mood. Listening to him, lifted one's  mood and set a good tone for the day during his morning drive shows.

Re la latlhegetswe ke Mogale,se ganka, motlhatlheledi le setswirere sa kgwele ya dinao.Robala ka Kagiso Morolong.. Setlogolo sa Matebele "CC".  Our prayers and thoughts are with the Manyaapelo Family, Motsweding FM family and most of all his friends and fans at large", stated Minister Thulas Nxesi.
