Carbohydrate is the main source of fuel for exercising muscles and a diet low in carbohydrate can lead to a lack of energy during exercise and early fatigue. This may cause loss of concentration and muscle heaviness and will delay recovery. Once digested, all carbohydrate-rich foods are eventually converted into glucose which your body uses for energy or stores in the form of glycogen for later use.
