Deputy Minister: SASCOC General Assembly - 16 April 2011

On the eve of one of the most important upcoming events in the history of sport in our country, Government is calling the entire South African sport sector to the starting line. In approximately four months time we are going to blow the whistle at a national sport and recreation indaba, it will start the race to take South African sport to a new level. This race is not a sprint, but a marathon. It is going to take effort. We need to support one another along the way if we are to conclude the race victorious. There may be some casualties, but ultimately we will emerge stronger and wiser by taking our policies and converting them to practice. Why would we go through this pain and effort you may ask yourself? What we would like to see after crossing the finish line is:
