Minister Nathi Mthethwa has traveled to France in support of South Africa Senior Ladies National team (Banyana Banyana).
Newly appointed Minister of Sport Arts and Culture, Minister Nathi Mthethwa has traveled to France in support of South Africa Senior Ladies National team (Banyana Banyana).
The Minister travels to France is in support of our ladies National team as they compete in the World Cup commencing with their World Cup group Stage opener against Spain.
Part of the Minister itinerary includes meeting with Banyana Technical Team and engaging them on the overall readiness of the team getting into the World Cup, it also includes an engagement with the entire Banyana Banyana National Team to convey his message of encouragement and also message from the President of the Republic of South Africa, President Cyril 'Matamela' Ramaphosa.
"Banyana Banyana has done extremely well to reach the 2019 Female World Cup and the deserve our full support. Note that this is part of Government and my Department Mandate to recognize talent and support our Athletes as they continue to excel in various competitions. They have to done well to be where they are and I am here to encourage them and further tell them that the entire country is behind them and they must carry the country flag high and give them the message from the President", Stated Minister Mthethwa.
Banyana Banyana take on Spain tonight at Stade Oceane with kickoff billed for 18H00. Banyana are in the same group alongside Germany and China.
