Minister Nathi Mthethwa aknowledges the appointment of Cricket SA Ms. Kugandrie Govender as acting CEO

Minister Nathi Mthethwa met the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Board on Monday 17 August and has since noted the developments inclusive of the departure of Mr Jacques Faul from his position. Minister has further noted that these occurrences are taking place within the same week of the resignation of Mr. Chris Nenzani as President.

The Minister has welcomed the swift action taken by CSA to appoint a replacement in Ms Kugandrie Govender from within its fold and remains hopeful that the appointment will certainly show an improvement in the composition of the top Management structure of CSA.

Minister Nathi Mthethwa said “I still expect the undertakings made by CSA at the meeting to be honored and accordingly, look forward to CSA’s urgent response to the substantive issues I have raised with their delegation. It was indeed clear even at Monday’s meeting that CSA was going through troubling times and as the Minister in the sector, I welcome any steps aimed at restoring stability to the organisation.
